ISLAMABAD, April 20 (APP): The anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Saturday sentenced former president General ® Pervez Musharraf on a 14-day judicial remand in judges’ detention case. The ATC court further ordered the police to reproduce him in the next hearing on May 4. General ® Pervez Musharraf was brought to Judge Kausar Abbas Zaidi’s court in presence of heavy security.
As soon as Musharraf left the court, lawyers followed him and chanted slogans against him. After the hearing, the security personnel escorted Pervez Musharraf outside the court from where he left for the Police Headquarters again under foolproof security.
Earlier, Pakistan’s former army chief and President Pervez Musharraf reached the court in Islamabad after spending his first night in the police custody at the Islamabad Police Lines Headquarters. The All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) General Secretary Dr Amjad, spoke to media after the verdict was announced and said that Musharraf is prepared to face all the cases. While answering questions related to Musharraf’s judicial remand period, the general secretary said “It isn’t necessary to be sent to Adyala jail, if security is at risk, any place can be declared a sub-jail.” He added that this is the administrations job to decide where he can get the best security while in custody. |
